When will my order be dispatched?

Orders are normally dispatched the same day or next business day. You will receive a notification email once the package has been dispatched with a courier tracking number. For any delayed orders, we will contact you with an estimated date for delivery.

We have a strict policy of not shipping liquid cultures on Fridays, as we don't know how they'll be handled/stored over a weekend. Such orders will be put on "Hold" until the next appropriate day for dispatch.

Can I pick up my order?

We are an online-only store, however, on some occassions we allow orders to be collected from our Bayswater North warehouse. Any pick-ups need to be organised in advance to ensure the warehouse is attended as we don't operate normal retail trading hours.

Do I need to create a Clever Brewing account before I can order?

No. Simply use the "Checkout as guest" option when you go to the checkout if you don't want to create an account. Additional features - like the ability to view your previous orders, reorder products, or create a wishlist - all require you to create an account first.

What payment methods do you accept?

Currently we accept payments via credit card (Visa, Mastercard) and by direct deposit to our back account.

Do you bag each malt variety separately?

Yes, by default we bag each malt separately for you. The only exception is for recipe packs where all the malts are combined.

If you want to order combined malts for a batch/recipe, simply select a numbered bag option when ordering grain (eg. Grains for batch #1, select bag no.1. Grains for batch #2, select bag no. 2 etc.). If you want any grains kept separate from the rest, don't select a bag number for that particular malt.

How accurate are the alpha ratings on the hops?

We indicate the alpha rating that is provided by the supplier but these ratings vary between batch and seasons so this is a general indication only. The packet of hops you receive will have the actual alpha rating for the hops you've purchased.

If Clever Brewing doesn't have the product I'm looking for, can I request it?

We are constantly expanding the range of products we offer. If we don't have it, ask us by completing the contact form and we'll see what we can do.

How do the gift certificates work, and do they expire?

Once you purchase a gift certificate you will receive a gift certificate code. This code needs to be entered into the coupon field within the shopping cart. You can keep using the gift certificate until the value has been used up or the certificate expires - you do not have to use it all in one purchase. Unless stated, gift certificates are now valid for 365 days.

Does the courier deliver on Saturdays?

Short answer: No. They deserve a weekend too!

What do I do if my package arrives damaged?

Please contact us immediately if any of the items you purchased arrive damaged. Please see our terms and conditions for more information on returning products.
